Natsuhi was running beside her teammate Kakashi Hatake. The breeze was blowing back her long red hair getting it stuck on the glasses covering her green eyes. The sun was beating down on her ivory skin, causing her to sweat. The trees around her were waving the two of them along as they ran to go get their teammates back from the clutches of evil.  They tried retrieving Obito from the back of the cave the kidnappers were keeping him in but it was too late; crashing was heard all around them and the roof caved in, trapping the four of them. Natsuhi was able to free Rin but Kakashi and Obito weren't going to make it. Obito shoved Kakashi in a last ditch effort to get him out, it worked but Obito was trapped in the rubble of the roof. Natsuhi heard him scream in pain and...

...Woke up in the middle of the night sweating.  This was the first time in a long while that Natsuhi dreamt of that horrible moment in her life. It was terrifying then and it was terrifying now. She sat up in her futon and squinted at the digital clock on her desk, it read 4:30 AM.
'Uhg, it's too early to be awake.' Natsuhi thought. 'Oh well, I'll go and do some early morning training to clear my mind.'  Shifting the covers off of her sleepy body she got off her futon and went to her dresser for her clothes. Natsuhi put on her glasses and grabbed her black shirt and pants, her hite-ate and gloves. After getting dressed Natsuhi padded in her bare feet to the kitchen for something to drink, she would eat after some training. She poured herself a glass of cold water from the fridge and guzzled it down.
'Ahhhh, much better.'  Natsuhi placed the glass back down on the counter and walked over to the back-door of her apartment; she put her black zori on and walked out.

It was a crisp early morning; the sun didn't even begin to think about rising up so she lit some of the lamps in the back yard. It wasn't a big yard, just big enough for a small deck and a few trees. The lamps gave off enough light to illuminate the whole yard nicely. Natsuhi walked over to the middle of the yard, did a few hand signs to create a small lightning barrier around the yard so she wouldn't disturb any of the neighbors and started to meditate for a while to clear her mind of the nightmare. Her thoughts started flying by her and she lost track of time and soon had fallen asleep on the wet grass.

Natsuhi looked up into a starry sky to find the large over full moon reflecting back at her. A faint breeze blew and she shivered. A gloved hand reached around her and grabbed her shoulder, pulling her closer to the person.
"You don't have to be cold anymore. I'll be your warmth." She turned around to put her face into the chest of the person.
"I'm scared." She whispered; it was just barely audible.
"Don't be scared." The person wrapped their other arm around her and squeezed her tightly, not letting go. Natsuhi looked up and saw a face half covered with a dark mask underneath a shock of grey hair. The figure of her old friend began to crumble and turn to dust in her arms; blowing away in the slight breeze. Natsuhi screamed in anguish at the loss of her friend and...

...Woke up sitting in the lotus position on the dewy grass of her backyard. She was breathing heavily and sweating. Natsuhi stood up and bent in half, grasping her ankles. She began twisting from side to side after rising back up.
'Why do I keep having these nightmares about my closest friends? Is it because I'm leaving for Konoha in a week's time?' Natsuhi thought. She began to stretch her legs, slowly sliding into a "splits" position; reaching toward each foot one after another. After getting back up with ease, she suddenly attacked a training dummy to the left of her; knocking around the head with a swift back hand.
"I" Another hit to the head. "Will" A side kick to the stomach. "Not" Another side kick but this time to the head. "Let" A frontal punch to the sternum. "My" A side punch to the left of the face. "Nightmares" A heel kick to the pelvis. "Best" Another side kick to the stomach. "Me!" She spoke one word after another, punching and kicking the worn cloth dummy in rapid succession until it knocked over.
'That helped, now for some food.'

A bright crackle sound was heard as Natsuhi let down the barrier around the yard and walked back in her back door. She took her zori off just as she came inside and padded barefoot around the corner to her small kitchen. It had a small fridge, an oven with a built in wok fryer, a tiny dull sink and a microwave oven sitting on one of her dirty-white counters. The walls were a pale yellow and the linoleum matched with a gruesome dirty-green. Natsuhi opened her small fridge and pulled out a container of day old rice along with a small box of dried vegetables and a bottle of soy from the cupboard. She turned her stove-wok on and splashed some soy into the hot pan.
"Where are my mushrooms?" Natsuhi was digging in another cupboard above her head looking for a box of dried mushrooms to add to her fried rice; no luck.
"Did I eat them already?" Several boxes came crashing down on her head as she pulled a half empty box from the back; Natsuhi flinched.
"Nope, not here, I really need to clean my cupboards out." Natsuhi frowned upon the pile of dry goods on her floor and put them all haphazardly back where they were a second ago. She trudged over to the wok and dumped the container of rice in the hot soy; it splashed on the rest of the stove and began to sizzle.
"Ok mushrooms, where are you?" Another trudge to the cupboards and another unsuccessful dig to find the box of dried mushrooms was it for Natsuhi; she'd find them later. Padding back to the wok Natsuhi dumped the veggies in and grabbed a spoon from the drawer to her right to stir the rice. She added some more soy and stirred the mixture around for a few seconds. It was sizzling brightly by now and the rice just started turning golden; Natsuhi put a lid on the rice and walked out of her kitchen for a bit. She padded around her living/dining room looking for the mission scroll unsuccessfully.
"Am I really this disorganized?" A couple of minutes of unsuccessful searching and Natsuhi answered her question. "I guess I am." She padded back to the kitchen and stirred her rice, it was just about done. Natsuhi went back to one of the cupboards and pulled out a small round bowl, she also grabbed her chopsticks from the drawer underneath. She trudged back to the wok, turned it off, spooned some of the fried rice into the bowl and walked back into her living/dining room. It was around 6:30 AM when she finished eating her bowl of rice, right around the time her students would be showing up at the training grounds. Natsuhi looked at the clock again and sat up, brought her bowl to the kitchen and placed it in the small sink. Trudging out of the kitchen she walked back into her room, it was just off of the living/dining room. It was a smaller room that held a futon bedroll, a small closet, a dresser and a small desk. The walls were that same pale yellow as the kitchen but the floor this time was a better shade of green carpet. Natsuhi was digging in her dresser for her vest so she could leave and remembered the scroll she needed for training that day. She looked up from the drawer and could tell that it was going to be a long day.
Ok, after many a month debating how I was going to start Natsuhi's story, here's chapter one. I don't have a proper name for it yet so if you could think of one I might use it.

I hope that you like the start of this. Oh, her apt is the first floor of a two floor apt house, no one occupies the top floor.
